NEW LOOK S5000S BREAK COVER AT PHILLIP ISLAND TEST

A host of stunning, new look S5000s broke cover at the Australian Racing Group’s Phillip Island test on Wednesday, with a raft of new colours shown off for the first time.

While James Golding’s familiar dark blue Valvoline entry ended the day at the top of the time sheets, there were two cars in particular that had striking new looks, with even more liveries to flow ahead of the season opening event at the Boost Mobile Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains.

Ricky Capo debuted a fresh white look, reminiscent of an 1980s Formula 1 car. Capo’s car, run privately by his family team Modena Engineering, features backing from Recruit Australia, Elders Insurance, DMG Mori and Solutions in Plastic.

Also displaying a bold look was young gun Antonio Astuti, who has secured backing from popular Australian wine brand Yellow Tail as well as Apex.

GRM driver Luis Leeds and Team BRM’s Tommy Smith competed at the test with plain liveries and will reveal new schemes ahead of the Tasmanian round.

It is expected that at least 10, and potentially more S5000s will take to the track at Symmons Plains next week.

All S5000 cars will feature Supercheap Auto branding after a deal was struck between ARG and the Australia Auto giant today. CLICK HERE for more details.
