Macau, 16 October 2014
Following last year’s victory, SJM Theodore Racing by Prema returns to Macau with an expanded team of three cars, driven by Frenchman Esteban Ocon, Antonio Fuoco of Italy and Canada’s Nicholas Latifi.
Speaking about the challenge, all three drivers expressed pride and happiness at being part of the SJM Theodore Racing by Prema team in the 61st Macau Grand Prix. Ocon, a Lotus F1 Junior Team driver and recently crowned champion of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, will drive car #1 (above). He said: “The Theodore team has a great tradition in this race and I hope it continues this year. I’ll do my best to win it.”
Fuoco, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy who ranks fifth overall in European F3, remarked, “This combination won the last edition of this exceptional Asian race, therefore I believe I will have what is needed to do a good job. For me this will be the first time racing on one of the world’s most difficult and fascinating circuits, but I am confident considering the positive results we have obtained throughout the season.”
Latifi, who is tenth in the European F3 standings, added, “The Macau Grand Prix
is a track that I really enjoy and I’m confident that, considering the team’s success,
the weekend will be very special.”
Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) is the title sponsor and official partner
of SJM Theodore Racing by Prema. The trio of SJM Theodore Racing by Prema entries for the 2014 event will utilize Mercedes-Benz powered Dallara Formula 3 cars.
